Slow

use "click - hold - drag" to get total control. Use the small
tools located bottom left corner to zoom in or revert to auto rotate.
An incredible display
of 360 food taken, by a very over weight 360 photographer. They were both
good fun and even asked if we wanted more! Spin around to the 280
position. I like this one.
A
series of 360
panoramic images showing the
fantastic display and re-enactment of what it would be like to go back in
time to the English Civil War.
Believe me,
there were LOTS of load bangs and plenty of commitment from the
"soldiers" and other performers. In fact, at one stage I nearly
got caught up in a (simulated) drunken brawl. These people REALLY get into
their role and make the whole thing very exciting for us
"moderns". There were various tents that displayed the skills
and techniques used to produce food and weapons during that period in
English history.
As an ex Royal
Engineer, I was particularly interested in the demonstration of Roundhead
defence obstacles. Of course, my wife wanted to go for a cup of tea
instead!
This was the
second of four events and I thoroughly recommend you attend the remaining
two events. A very high standard event and congratulations to management
at Rufford for organising these events.
Further
information about the next two events can be found at: www.eventplan.co.uk

Which side would
you have fought on during the English Civil War, Parliamentarian or - like
Rufford's owner - Royalist? Make your mind up as Parliamentarian soldiers
present living history, pike drill, musket firing and other scenarios.
Meet finely dressed officers and watch as their luncheon is served, and
contrast them with the ordinary musketeers, pikemen and camp followers
that make up the armies of the 1640s. Ask them why they fight, what cause
they believe in, and who they think will win...and what happens to the
estate and its owner if King Charles loses? And can you spot the Royalist
spy in their midst? Colourful, noisy and thought provoking by turns, this
will be a great weekend to discover the ins and outs of one of the most
important and turbulent eras of Britain's history.
Presented by The
Fairfax Battalia
The Fairfax Battalia is a re-enactment group which
recreates military and civilian life of the 17th century, based
around a company of soldiers from the period of the English Civil
War (1642-1651).
Good stuff, well
done. Thank you for a great day out!
